Module Two

Introduction | Quality Stocks | Value Stocks | Candlesticks

Module Two | Part 1

In part 1 we introduce the serious business of filtering 6,000 stocks from the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. We are looking for really good quality companies with shares that, at current prices, represent very good value. First we take the list down to 1,700, then to 100 or so and then to a handful.

Module Two | Part 2

In this part of module two we take a close look at how we filter stocks to identify those of the highest quality. We measure quality across seven factors such as profitability, consistent performance, level of indebtedness and the quality of the management team.

Module Two | Part 3

In part 3 we look at value for money and how we determine what does and does not represent good value.

Module Two | Part 4

In part 4 we begin to get to know the vast subject of charts and trends. Having established which stocks are of high quality and that represent good value, we turn our attention to timing. Timing is mainly about reading and interpreting trends. Understanding trends starts with understanding candlesticks. Recognising trends is a major part of the trading skill-set and essential to success.
